The Rio Peñas Blancas is fed by several pristine waters from the cloud forest surrounding Monteverde and is surrounded by lush rainforest, volcanic hot springs, waterfalls and forested gorges up to 200 m high. In other words, the Rio Peñas Blancas is a scenic adventure.
The tour starts in the morning in la Fortuna and of course you will be picked up at the hotel.
There are 3 different ways to navigate the river - in a raft , in a canoe or in a kayak . You sail on calm water through the rainforest and have the opportunity to observe many animals. The trained eye of the guide helps, because the sloth, for example, adapts very well to its surroundings and moves so slowly that you normally simply don't notice this animal.
Crocodiles, caimans, turtles, lizards, many birds and 3 different types of monkeys are also likely to be seen. The nature is absolutely impressive. During a stop at a farm in the middle of the jungle, you can experience life in Costa Rica over 70 years ago - a small snack is served here.
